Meet Brad and Monique – Passionate Crew Behind Bayscapes Charters
At Bayscapes Charters, we believe that great sailing experiences begin with passionate people. We’re Brad and Monique, the proud owner-operators of Bayscapes Charters, based in Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Founded in July 2021, what started as Brad’s dream of a charter business has grown into a shared passion, bringing unforgettable Bay of Islands sailing experiences to our guests.
Our love for sailing and the ocean is what inspired us to create Bayscapes — a locally owned charter business focused on sharing the natural beauty, marine life, and island scenery that make the Bay of Islands such a special place to explore.

Brad – Skipper and Sailing Enthusiast
Brad has always had a strong connection to the ocean, with years of hands-on sailing experience and a passion for exploring coastal waters. As skipper of Hibiscus Star, Brad enjoys sharing his knowledge of sailing and guiding guests safely through the islands of the Bay of Islands.
His calm approach, attention to safety, and love for the water help create relaxed and memorable experiences for every group that steps aboard.
Monique – Host and Guest Experience Specialist
Monique plays a key role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere onboard. From preparing for each charter to assisting guests throughout the day, she focuses on making every experience smooth, relaxed, and memorable.
Her passion for hospitality and love of the ocean help ensure guests feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they step aboard Hibiscus Star. Monique brings her own wealth of experience, having worked on small boats with the New Zealand Army, where she earned her SRL ticket.
